Details:
Hdpe pipe material is used for a number of reasons but the main one is this material is more resistant to Hydro Carbons. So in a Environment where Hydro Carbon traces can be found or is being tested for HDPE is the material of choice; If PVC is used the life expectancy is very short as the Hydro Carbon will break down PVC. Benefits are: Chemical resistance to Hydro Carbon - test bore will last longer; Light weight material- Easier Handling less stress on backs; Threaded Joints are quickly joined- Quick installation times ( no need for a poly welder taking longer). HDPE has a lot higher impact strength than PVC; so this material will not crack and break if hit or dropped- transportation is a lot safer. Being more flexible will bend round easier thn PVC as when installing pipe in the horizontal situation if the trench etc is not perfectly straight HDPE will form a lot easier and will still have all it's integral strength. Meets potable water standards.
